Internationalization, social networks, Individualization, demographic change … These are social transformations which also affect the world of work. Different ideas, experiences as well as leadership and work styles have always formed part of the Bosch identity. With roughly 375,000 associates in 440 locations and some 60 countries worldwide, diversity is lived experience at Bosch every day.

In 2007, Bosch was one of the first companies to sign the German “Diversity Charter” in which companies officially undertake to recognize and value diversity. For good reason: Diversity is a central pillar of Bosch’s commercial success because it creates the conditions for innovation. This is why we always think in terms of competence– regardless of aspects like age, gender or origin.

Diversity management is a key component of our corporate strategy and focuses on the following four dimensions of diversity:

Gender:
Equal opportunities for all

Many studies show: Mixed teams, in which women and men cooperate at all levels of the company develop better products and services.

Generations:
Combining experience and personal development

Competence has nothing to do with age. What counts is the combination of practical experience and fresh ideas. Bosch provides the right working environment in which up to four generations work together: from our more than 6,000 apprentices to more than 1600 former employees who advise us with their tremendous wealth of experience.

Internationality:
One world with many perspectives

In 440 locations worldwide and with some 2200 deployments abroad every year, people from more than 110 countries work for Bosch in Germany alone. This diversity makes us a uniquely global employer.

We promote exchange between the world’s different cultures through our international staff deployments, language courses, intercultural training programs and employee networks.

Work culture:
A good balance between professional and private life

To promote diversity sustainably, we foster a work culture in which our employees can be authentic – with their personal career plans, lifestyles and private goals. We support these different wishes with flexible working hours and a good work-life balance – for both women and men.
